Founder, M-Cube Technologies
Inventor and Global Investor • Built Systems that Learned - Before AI Went Viral
I've lived my life in overlapping arcs - mathematician, engineer, portfolio manager, founder, photographer, singer - all of them pointing toward the same relentless passion: abstracting the underlying structure in things and using them for better decision-making.
I grew up believing that mathematics was a language for describing the world, but over time I learned it was also a way of seeing the world - the hidden trade-offs, the nonlinearities, the places where intuition fails and structure takes over.
Whether modeling semiconductor physics, optimizing bandwidth networks, flying an aircraft engine with real-time control algorithms, or managing global capital through chaos, the work was always the same at its core. Systems reveal themselves if you listen closely enough.
I've always carried a camera, trying to catch the geometry of light in the wild. I've always sung - sometimes on stage, sometimes alone - because music is the one place where structure and emotion collapse into each other.
I build things that learn. I build things that adapt. I build things that make sense of complexity without losing their humanity. M-Cube is the latest expression of that instinct - but it's just one chapter in a longer story about curiosity, risk, and the belief that good systems make the world more legible.
Advisory Software Engineer
Developed fast, compressed analogs of physics-based models for circuit simulation - the early equivalent of quantized large language models, long before the term existed. Using reinforcement-learning style optimization to design circuits in 1997.
Senior Staff Mathematician
Applied nonlinear optimization to corporate decision-making - the moment I realized these mathematical tools could explain how companies allocate capital and manage trade-offs. My gateway into finance.
Optimization, Data & Modeling Researcher
Co-invented a model with the CEO connecting the economics of bandwidth to the physical realities of network operations - a patent that helped shape the early internet backbone. Mathematical structure driving billion-dollar decisions.
Research Scientist
Developed real-time nonlinear optimization algorithms implemented on an actual aircraft engine - work that earned several patents and an Outstanding Achievement Award.
Senior Analyst → Portfolio Manager
Joined a year before Lehman collapsed. Within two years: Senior Analyst. Within two more: one of the fastest promotions to Portfolio Manager in firm history. Led a three-year post-GFC turnaround beating the benchmark by 900 bps annualized - the best stretch in the fund's history.
Founder & Chief Investment Officer
Left a coveted portfolio manager seat to start Pearl Brook from scratch. Built everything from scratch. In August 2015, when global markets were down 10–12%, my fund was down only 1.5%. A hedge-fund legend and sports-team owner became my anchor investor and partner. Long-only carve-out outperformed the MSCI benchmark by 1000 bps annualized over 6 years.
Founder
The capstone of my life's work: a market engine that learns, adapts, and trades live capital - and can replicate any investment strategy. Built on the same mathematical lineage that shaped my work across disciplines, and founded on my decades investing in the global markets, reimagined for an AI-native world.
For more than two decades, my work has lived at the intersection of applied mathematics, innovation, global markets, and system-level engineering. From semiconductor physics to corporate decision-making, from network economics to aircraft control systems, from global capital allocation to AI-native market systems - I went broad and deep.
Complex systems reveal their structure when you approach them with the right abstractions. M-Cube is the culmination of that journey.
An AI-native market system that learns, adapts, and trades live capital, and produces stellar outperformance, with human oversight. This is my life's capstone.
Capturing the geometry of light in the wild. Visual storytelling through the lens of mathematical structure and natural beauty.
Singer and musician. The one place where structure and emotion collapse into each other, where mathematics becomes feeling.
Math and science educator. Sharing the language of systems thinking and the beauty of mathematical abstraction.
